Ambitious NPFL club El Kanemi Warriors have made Imama Amapakabo the highest paid coach in the league for the second straight season after they agreed to pay him a signing-on fee of 15 million Naira and a monthly salary of a million Naira.
That will mean his year’s deal with the Maiduguri club is worth a total of 27 million Naira.
The young coach, who led Enugu Rangers to win the NPFL championship two seasons ago, will now be presented to the media and public next week Tuesday as the new El Kanemi coach in Maiduguri.
The Eagles assistant coach was the best paid coach last season when he signed a contract with Enugu Rangers that was to pay him two million Naira a month, which will translate to a total of 24 million Naira.
The League Management Company (LMC) have since ordered Rangers to pay Imama more than 16 million Naira for wrongful dismissal.
Rangers have yet to comply with this order many months after.
